Comparatively to numoltres, the normal one has a more animal style to it, it feels more like it could exist as some fabled rare beast. Numoltres looks more ethereal, like a spirit being thing, I don't like the nonbird colored beak that just molds into the body, the fire is an unrealistic red kind of silly, it comes across way more cartoonish to me.
I don't dislike the new one btw, it's still neat looking, has good color combination, I think it properly pulls of the edgy but not too edgy look which is hard to do these days, but in direct comparison, I like the old one better.
