>>44102772I've said this before but, if I had to think like nu-Gamefreak for a minute I would do another Gen 6-7 style starter set while still trying to keep the "Strong, Cool, and Funny" philosophy they state they have with starters.
Grass type should reflect something soft while still remaining the "funny" one. So I'd go with something that's delicate, but at the same time the animal it's based on has to be marketable. So maybe a butterfly or some type of bug. Or even a deer could work. But we already have Sawsbuck so idk how that can work.
Fire type would definitely be a snake. Just to keep in line with the muh zodiac theory. It fills the cool role. And baby snakes are pretty cute. But if zodiacfagging isn't a thing I'd go with a scorpion.
For the water type, the only two big burly, audience friendly animals I know that can traverse water and land is a bear and a hippo. But I like the idea of a bear more because there's alot more you can do with it and it's a carnivore. But a hippo does give leeway into a potentially more funny design. But ultimately this would be the "strong" one of the trio.
