I grinded the team up to the high 60s so it's a fair challenge, here's a summary of the Red fight:
>Pikachu
Al uses Earthquake to instagib it, ezpz.
>Espeon
I switch in my HM slave Chinchou to sacrifice it for a free switch in for Planck. Planck takes it down to half health with the first Shadow Ball, Red gets greedy and uses Calm Mind. The second Shadow Ball kills it.
>Snorlax
Here's where things start to go south. This thing absolutely destroys Planck, so I switch in Tesla who almost gets killed & get paralyzed by its Body Slam. Then I remember it doesn't any diverse moves, so I switch in Al who walls it and takes it down with Earthquakes.
>Venusaur
I switch in Carson to tank its Solarbeams and whittle it down with Ice Punch. Unfortunately, at the last hit, it high rolls and kills Carson. RIP. I switch in Tesla, who responds with a Fire Punch to kill it.
>Blastoise and Charizard
Both get swept by Tesla, securing the dub.
This was a rough run, but we pulled through strong at the end. Tesla was easily the Kanto MVP, basically soloing the entire region himself. Ampharos, Kingler, and Golem enter the hall of champions, and are banned from future runs. Crystal is up next; post number decides my starter, odd number is Cyndaquil, even number is Totodile.
