>>21877292I was going to point-by-point argue with you but I realized you're just posting your opinions, in support of your original opinion that you think Gen 2 is the worst. And I honestly don't see the point in it.
Instead I wanted to ask: why is the Pokemon community so fragmented?
On one side you have people who only like the new games (Gen 3 and up), on the other you have people who only like the older games (paradoxically, this is usually Gen 3 downwards), and you hardly ever hear from people like me, who love Pokemon, all the games, and all the monsters, and don't see any particularly glaring flaws with any of them in a series that has consistently entertained for more than half of my life.
I started with Red, but my favorite is still HeartGold and SoulSilver. I don't think less of other generations for it and I mean no offense towards anyone, we just have a difference of opinion. I think we should celebrate that difference rather than allow it to divide us, and fans.
At the end of the day, we all like Pokemon. Is that not enough? Must we engage in false-morality in order to find a "good reason" to tear down our virtual opponents? Are we to be forever mired in demagoguery?
