Megas needed some sort of sacrifice or drawback for them to be used more tactically since nearly every Pokemon with a Mega would go Mega the first turn its out without a thought. Like the only exception I can ever think of was Lightningrod Manectric in doubles so you can get a Sp. Atk boost from an ally using Discharge and then next turn going Mega. Megas should have had an HP sacrifice a la Belly Drum and then they should have lasted 5 turns after that. Not only would that have balanced out Megas a bit it would also fit in with the lore of "oh Megas are literally dangerously overclocking your Pokemon to the point of insanity".

Alright um anybody doing this out there, I have 2 mons that just need a few things edited. I have a Manectric that only needs its nature changed from Modest to Timid. The other one is a shiny Treecko I got a while back in a giveaway, and it needs a few things changed. It needs its ball changed back to a regular Pokeball, it needs to be switched to 6IVs instead of just 5, and I would appreiate it if the nature could be changed from Timid to Jolly. Thanks to anyone who volunteers to help a dude out

My favorite mega. It's got everything going for it to be a successful volt switch abuser.
With the coverage of volt switch, thunderbolt, hp(ice), and flamethrower/overheat.
It does work punching holes in your opponents team.
Coupled with Gyarados(2xIntimidate) as bait. It's easy to get of a lightningrod boost.
It has flaws and needs support, but it's never completely let me down in any match
