>>55344949first of all, his design is just right up my alley. i’ve always had a thing for fictional pretty boys, and for some reason the ice / snow thematic always appealed to me. before SV frosmoth was actually my favorite pokémon. so to see the two combined in one cute design, with a seemingly stoic appearance made me so interested pre-release.
meeting grusha was what i was most excited for in SV, and i remember staying up on rkun’s stream just to finally see him! his cute yet manly mannerisms, the contradiction of him being an ice type gym leader yet always being cold, his cocky yet self deprecating personality, his backstory… i love everything about him. he’s got a lot of depth for a pokémon character, and i really wish we got to see more of his days as a pro snowboarder. pre-dlc, he has yet to accept that his dream is over for reasons beyond his control, so i love to explore the depths of his bitterness and self loathing in my mind (i’m a bit too shy to share my headcanons with anyone else).
and he still manages to be a canonically strong trainer, despite his low motivation and it not even being what he truly loves in life. he’s a hard worker and pushes through no matter what life throws at him. i wish fandom would focus more on his personality and would stop reducing him to femboy/trap (which he is not, he’s simply a very pretty man.)
i’ve never felt this way about a fictional character before. sure, i’ve collected merch of cute fictional girls and boys here and there, but nothing will come close to strangely passionate love i feel for this particular character.
sorry for autism. i just really like grusha.
>>55344904thank you anon! he is the cutest.
