I cant understand why people like it besides wanting to feel smug about completing a childrens game cave or the music. Yeah, Masuda admitted to some jap kids getting filtered but its still garbage. The dungeon design is barebones with either one or 2 pathways per room. It has no new puzzle mechanics just boring HM spam for roadblock sake. The encounter list is filled with boring shitmon and no rare mons as rewards. The visuals are drab and boring. The interconnectivity is vastly overrated and lazily implemented. Exploration is neither intrinsically (HM spots arent that well obfuscated and HMs are just cutscenes) and extrinsically (shit rewards) rewarding. Gen 1/2 and 5 dungeons are much more deserving of praise.
