Literally one more foot backwards was a cliff with a fifty foot drop. I would have died if I flew even a foot further.
I'm very surprised the shock of the explosion didn't tear off a limb of mine either.

I was 15 at the time when I had an encounter with a ghost, not a ghost pokemon but an actual spirit.
I was travelling from Ecruteak to Mahogany town when it began to storm, I sought shelter in an abandoned temple. My Gardevoir didn't detect any ghost pokemon in the temple so I felt it safe to stay there. My Dusknoir, Gardevoir, and Weavile explored the place, occasionally we'd hear a soft quiet whimper. We couldn't pinpoint its location throughout the temple but we all heard it. Occaisionally we'd see something brush past in the corner of our eyes but the biggest thing that made us retreat was we heard a creaking at the end of the hallway. It wasn't a Pokemon but we saw the silhouette of some kind of being, like it looked human but...childlike. We got the fuck out of there, I wasn't too sure if Pokemon could fight Ghosts but I didn't want to know.
