>>54892087But go has almost nothing in common with these games, it's a totally different experience that CAN'T scratch the same itch. The battle system is totally different, the quests/story lines are all the same "a pokemon has appeared, let me tell you about it before giving you some busy work" or the exact same recurring quest to defeat team rocket with very little continuity or actual story to tell, everything being tied to the real world means your ability to enjoy the game will vary wildly depending on where you live and how much you travel, niantic is limited in what they can expect all players to have access to so they're limited in the experiences they can build into the game vs a hand crafted world and identical hardware for all players, and the whole thing is geared towards getting players to buy consumables and fomo tickets so you can't just play at your own pace. It's great they have shadow pokemon, but it isn't a follow-up to the gamecube games whatsoever.
