>>50091328>Which mons on your team are you using for the first time? All of them were new for me, it was a fun playthrough.
>MantineI've always wanted to use Mantine, but I never get the chance because there's always other Water- or Flying-Types I wanna use.
>>50091347>How many tries did it take for you to defeat Red?A good few attempts, maybe 4 or 5. I made a few mistakes such as accidentally using Slash on Venusaur instead of Ice Beam, but it made for a very intense fight. At the end we were both down to one-one, Heracross vs Snorlax. I know I had the type advantage but Snorlax can easily cripple you and fuck you over. Heracross pulled through getting two defense drops with Rock Smash, before being hit with a Body Slam taking me to below half health. If he paralysed me there it would've been over, but I got lucky. Heracross finished it with a Reversal which I was sure wouldn't kill but it did. Watching that health bar go down was so nerve wracking. It was literally down to whoever got the first hit that turn. Those are the kinds of moments I love in Pokémon. It was especially special to me as Heracross hadn't really been used in most of the Gyms/E4, so it getting the winning blow was really cool. I have a newfound appreciation for this Mon now.
>Beat him first try with by Gold and Silver team. The trick? the move Sandstorm.Cool team. I used Politoed in HG and it was surprisingly good.
