Assuming Ash's ace-in-the-hole for Cynthia is Mega Lucario, this battle is easily in his favour. Logically Dragonite and Dracovish are going to be the jobbers of the match because Multiscale and Fishious Rend become less useful the longer a fight goes on. So Sirfetch'd and Gengar should see some more use here. Pikachu will also probably be less useful because Cynthia has at least two Ground types and Ash has no hazards around the field (like water) to use on them.
So Lucario, Sirfetch'd and Gengar are the keys.
>Gengar
Has Will-O-Wisp to weaken Cynthia's pokemon over a long battle. Cursed Body enables it to disable Cynthia's moves. Dazzling Gleam can fuck up Kommo-o and Garchomp and Sludge Bomb can inflict poison. So Poison + Burn mixed with Cursed Body to disrupt and weaken her over the battle.
>Sirfetch'd
Is more limited overall with straight forward moves. But since they are releasing Ash's team in SwSh they have to pick an ability for him. Either he gets Steadfast to get faster every time he flinches or he gets Scrappy so he can hit Ghost types with his fighting moves. I don't think they're going to have Cynthia's Spiritomb so my money is on Steadfast. So while he's straight forward he will get faster over the battle.
>Lucario
The entire reason his Lucario would be his ace is simple. Reversal. If Ash is struggling earlier on in the battle then he needs his pokemon like Gengar to weaken Cynthia over time but Reversal enables Lucario to become an insanely dangerous threat the more hits he takes without going down.
Ash winning this is going to be all about a snowball effect. He needs to punish Cynthia the longer she fails to take him out. Reversal + Poison + Burn + Cursed Body can fuck her over.
