He has no plot relevance, aside from standing there as plot happens nearby. He isn't a weird sickly kid. He isn't talking about malasadas all the time. He doesn't have dreams to become a dancer with his weird dancing team of Pokemon. He doesn't go on to become a professor or a gym leader. He doesn't even have a memorable design, he looks like Hau with a different haircut. As far as rivals go, he is absolutely BORING. Unmemorable. The ONLY thing that stands out about him is that his brother is the shitlord champion, but that doesn't exactly make Hop interesting himself. His character arc doesn't even really come to a conclusion, he just accepts that he's not the protagonist. No shit Hop, I am, I never expected you to rise up to your brother's legacy because I'm here.
