The Hoopa and Diancie distributions themselves were farfetched and retarded.
There weren't even gym leader rematches or alike battles since Gen 5, Kalos had those embarassing nerfed team "rematches" at Chateau...Tate & Liza teams were the same as in RS in Gen 6's insane power creep compared to Gen 3.
The new contests had those special animations and had to implement megas and it's fine but they should have partially kept the old mechanics too.
I can't tell if Game Freak had the ORAS idea or a Gen 3 remake before XY or after only when they realized there was no time to make both Hoenn remakes and a Z version.
Let's assume the company was new with the 3DS games but then again they were new on the DS too yet they have baked HGSS (few flaws but many props) and Platinum and eventually BW2 after the BW scam.
