>>58363347I think the case of the Explorers protagonist becomes pretty muddied when it comes to how much of an anomaly it is compared to the other protags and instances of humans existing or the concept of disappearing happens. I do think the evidence stated in the game (protag disappearing due to the changed future is something implied, with Dialga using his powers to bring the player back, with no contradiction on his end is something that's specifically the odd one out vs. all other protags being summoned and explicitly mentioned as such in the game's narrative and not just menus) imply some form of always existing in the future.
If you want to give the gameplay personality quiz menuing credence as something more than just a gameplay element, then that also creates an oddity where the protag is "summoned" into the future rather than the present, with Grovyle being the partner instead of the one you selected. In general, the case with Explorers protag is really strange.
>let's say it's a children's game and they don't think about human genetics, it should still be at least a small village of humans, otherwise who are MC's parents, grandparents, etc?I'd just assume the lack of other humans in the story element happens due to that aspect not being relevant to the future storyline (in general, the future's "lore" is largely left unknown, with things like the "Planet's Investigation Team" getting namedropped in SE5 as a thing that gives off big worldbuilding implications, only to never be elaborated on again), so it's not really unheard of to just have points that aren't explained too well. We could probably nitpick "Eastern Forest" and the implied volcano Time Gear
although this one can easily be handwaved as Partner's hearsay and Darkness('s title screen) being noncanon among other things too. It's honestly a case where fans care a lot more about the nitty gritty than what the writers originally had in mind.
