Why do people hate this game again? Story is serviceable but probably the worst thing about the game, but the new pikachu interactions are great and just have this soulful feel unlike the previous Pikachu pet game, the Pokemon mini is a fine gimmick and add some much needed mini-games, and they fully embrace the gimmick, making an entire emulator (although sadly not all the mini games), nice cards, there are more interesting rivals, the pokemon channels and tvs are all fun to watch and collect, it had almost all relevant pokemon at the time and they made new cries for every pokemon, and theres no exp share. Luckily, there's no battling, so you can play casually without having to stress about conflict. Theres so much to explore, including a lot of beach areas. The last quarter of the game is just exploring ruins and discovering the Pichu Bros. short, and there’s tons of agency with that. In addition, the pacing is great. And I haven’t even touched on the amazing Jirachi gift yet
