>>46019822I think that the cost for Pokemon Centers aren't nearly as expensive as real medicine since there are a couple things that the Pokemon world has that we don't
>Berries essentially acting as a miracle drug>Pokemon with healing abilities assisting (e.g. Chansey)>Tech level is high enough that PC healing machines can be duped over to towns that are out in the boonies.Sure it also helps that the pharmaceutical sector in the Pokeworld hasn't been bogged to hell either, but as mentioned above there really wouldn't be a whole lot of money required for it even with socialized medicine. Let's say that the materials used for Potions are mixtures of concentrated berries.
Berries heal different amounts of health depending on the berry and game, but let's just use basic bitch mainline Oran Berries for a lowball example.
>Orans can heal 10 HP when used>Berries grow to full size in anywhere between a day to a couple of daysFor this example, let's also use Gen 7's Berry system as well, since it'd be reasonable to assume that there are farms with Pokemon helping to tend to the berry trees instead of some autist sitting by a tree and watering it the second that the soil dries up.
>A properly developed Isle Aplenny (which is also a reasonable assumption to make about a government Berry Farm) would have a yield of 5-15 Berries per harvest per tree>A fully developed Aplenny has space for 18 trees. >Growth speed can be sped up with beans but let's ignore this for nowThat's a harvest of anywhere between 90-270 berries a day, and that's on a tiny bitch ass island.
If those were all Oran Berries, then they'd be able to restore about 900-2700 "HP" worth of damage daily, with carry over from all of the previous days. Most PCs probably have a stockpile of them in the back too, and that's more than enough to handle the healing for a bunch of average trainers. I bet major cities have larger farms than that tiny island, or receive regular Berry shipments from plantations.
