>>32777214Trading holding an item is always a pain in the ass because, more likely than not, the item in question is a pain in the ass to get. More importantly, it means you have to deal with another person in order to get it done.
Worst part is if you have a shiny and you need to evolve it. How do you trust some random fucker on the internet to do the trade and not just immediately disconnect once they have your shiny in their hand? And even if you do have a trustworthy friend to work it, you still need to be around at the same time in order to do it.
The only other option is to buy a separate 3DS and a different game to trade to, and not everyone can afford that.
