The only thing diamonds are good for is inventory expansion, and they capped ingredients, the most important one, at 500.
You earn enough diamonds through free play that your ingredient storage will keep pass with your progression.
The premium pass? Sure they might do that because there's a clear benefit with +100 sleep points, premium exchange, the premium bonus biscuit, and a few other perks.

Some of the Event missions are better than others.
Using 7 incenses or giving out 15 biscuits for a mere 15 Eevee candy each? Not really worth it, even with how disposable recovery incense tend to be.
Up to ten free biscuits for just keeping to your bedtime 3 times, and reaching ultra 1? That's super generous.
