Alpha timeline
The alpha timeline is a common fan term for the GB games and it isn't directly confirmed, but after the non-mega timeline was confirmed to keep RSE canon, it makes sense that RBY and GSC are still canon too. Since this is a barebones universe I don't see a particular reason why this universe would have an adventure in the other regions so I didn't cover anything like that (i.e. if RS were release on the GB Color)
Remakes
I have all of these taking place in the same time as the originals. There has been a lot of speculation that some of these, especially ORAS and LGPE, are at different points of the timeline, but since events are still the same and other events throughout the universe still depend on the order and duration, changing it up doesn't make sense. For example, the Royal Unova was built well after ORAS and it was up and running in BW, and LGPE does reference the Johto adventure as something that will happen.
The Grunt from Unova
The time period between the Gen 4 games and BW is the biggest and most known hole in the timeline that we know of. Unlike the other games this was the only time where they didn't come out and say how long after these took place. The biggest piece of evidence that we have is the Rocket grunt you run into in Mistralton who is implied to have been the same grunt from the postgame episode in GSC/HGSS that returned to his home country. He says that he started a family in this time and his son is older than a preschooler. I would guess that his son is 5 at the minimum and from roughly a year of pregnancy, I place it at 6 years ahead. This causes some problems that I'll address in the next posts.
