This ROM happened to be the Space World 1997 prototype of Pokemon Gold and Silver ("SW97"). >people in those communities hoard files and flexThey weren't exactly flexing afaik there was one guy who started talking about it to the Lost Media Wiki Discord before word came down that it was going to be kept on the down low until the translation could be made (still not clear on why they even cared). After that guy got the gag order then there wasn't a single peep about it anywhere on the internet as far as I know until the first SpaceWorld thread was made on /vp/ two days later which was thanks to that one guy making more or less an honest mistake. It was a "hey guys just so you know this is gonna be released soon!" type of thing rather than a "haha look at my awesome prototype you can't have!" thing
