If you saw the video and the posts Jim randomly found and read, many of those guys were lamenting their loneliness, inability to get laid/find a girlfriend, inability to get a job, and other literally autistic woes. Video games don't require outside social interaction, you aren't required to talk to real people. When you discuss this with other like-minded losers who're just as sad and autistic, the chances of a culture developing rises. Least that's how I see it.
