>>42382547>>fastest selling Switch game of all time>>positive critical reception>>the vast majority of the fanbase has moved on>>DLC gets warm reception from fansWhy should I care about any of this, critics are literal paid shills and the fanbase has proven themselves to have absolutely no standards for anything. Half the people I've seen buy it irl are casuals who just think Pokemon on a big screen is sick. That's a good enough reason I suppose, but as someone more invested in the series (and who still has the gamecube games), none of this appeals to me in particular and I care more about things they don't. Also the DLC isn't out yet so hold your horses on that one.
>>some of the best Pokemon designs in generationsAlso some of the worst, not that this alone sways me much either way.
>>massive quality of life changes and features>>ranked online is greatShowdown innately offers me more freedom and control in what I want to use and how I want to play, why subject myself to the same online that made Ultimate such a chore?
>>regular raid events and content updates for freeIsn't the raid stuff just a grind? Nobody seemed particularly thrilled about it when people were complaining about the lack of postgame before the DLC announcements. Also the majority of the content updates are /not/ free, so far you get what, a Slowpoke you can't evolve and the ability to trade/transfer in mons that previously weren't in the game. That's something I guess but it doesn't make up for the emptiness of the game people have described.
