N's true belief that Pokemon are actually slaves to man and should be free is a crazy ideal to the player, the player's true belief that Pokemon are not only not slaves but also partners to people is a crazy ideal to N. That's it, that's all there is to it. Of course the player is right, because the whole series is about how people and Pokemon are partners, that Pokemon enjoy battling, and that humans are basically the medium through which they do it best. Which is why Black and Black 2 are the canon games.
