There should also be a level of interest in sex by the women. Not all of them need to be horndogs and constantly pregnant or craving sex. It makes it more interesting for when the uninterested party comes around.
For instance I have a story that's not full harem but 1 male and 2 women and one of them, the first wife, is always pregnant and seeking the MC's dick after they get together. The other is more reserved and less interested in having constant sex with him and enjoys being with them both. The two wives also love each other and sleep together if they're feeling rowdy or the husband isn't there at the time. There are times where the first wife and husband will be banging nonstop and the 2nd wife will be sleeping next to them without a care. There should be a max number of wives, IMO after 5 it gets to be to many. That's not to say you can't have more, for instance its not really a harem but Ash as an adult globe trotting and banging a variety of women he meets on his journey without committing to any of them is a fun idea. Something I don't enjoy is stories claiming they're harem but are really just the MC slutting around without being in a committed relationship with the girls. The girls also tend to have no relationship with the other girls either.
Reverse harems are retarded in most cases since the males can't share single women as only one of them men can get the women pregnant at a time. In order for 5 men to procreate with 1 women it'd take nearly 4 years to each get a child of each bloodline. With women they can all get pregnant on the same day potentially.
