>>38447020>RedThe classic young JRPG hero, this time in a contemporary setting. Jeans, sneakers, a backpack and distinctively red cap and jacket to tell you he's the hero, even if the hardware wasn't capable of showing that within the game itself just yet. A 90s kid setting out into both the streets and the wilderness.
>Ethan/GoldIt's time for the sequel, and it's also time for Pokemon to better establish its own world and the kind of society the characters live in. Red had a Pokeball emblem on the back of his jacket, but Ethan is decked out in a hoodie with Pokeball holsters built into it. How fucking cool is that? His whole ensemble reflects the whole 'late-90s-cool' aesthetic. He's wearing his cap backwards, and he's got a hoodie and shorts. He has a PDA/phone on his wrist! At some point in development GF was planning to have him ride skateboards as well. Once again the dominant colour is red, but the blue of Red's jeans has been swapped out for a black and yellow scheme for the shorts and cap.
>BrendanThis is where the Pokemon world's iconography got to full steam on everything. Brendan looks like he's wearing sportswear; a biking shirt-esque jacket, fingerless gloves, baggy sweatpants(?), and the most confusing beanie hat in the world with a sweet Pokeball decal. All again coated in the colours of red, black and yellow. This guy's ready to work up a sweat in the great outdoors.
>LucasA bit of a mismatched design if I ever saw one. Guy's got another pretty nice red hat with a Pokeball design on it, even if not every kid probably agrees with flat caps as a fashion choice. A red scarf to signify that Sinnoh is probably a bit colder than the other regions, but then... he's wearing a plain white t-shirt, with some black sleeveless shirt over it. And then we have the baggy, blue cargo pants. What exactly is he dressing for? Plat Lucas kind of makes things more cohesive with the jacket
but my personal autism hates that specific shade of blue.
