I was not expecting to read a story from the angle of a morally dubious character. It’s a shock right from the start where we would expect the protagonist to develop a genuine friendship with the partner, the complete opposite happens.
It’s a pleasant surprise. It’s a bold move, and it’s pretty hard to write without making the reader dislike the character, but you pulled it off perfectly. Quite the opposite, you made me fall in love with Sableye.
But it doesn’t even stop here. I honestly thought the only “plot twist” (if I can call it that) the story had was the intro, and I was convinced she was going to reconcile with Silicobra. Then “six days ago” happened, and again, this shit took me by surprise. The absolute lack of remorse from Sableye was well written and made the character’s genius look dangerous, in a way.
Incredibly developed character, I love her! Also, you did an amazing job building such a convincing villain origin story for Silicobra, I’d almost root for him knowing what happened.
