As they occupy the same ecological niche, Poliwag and Lotad are not as friendly toward one another as a layman might expect. Both species are omnivores, preying on weaker bug types, and in their evolved states, eachother. This generally leads one species to drive the other to local extinction, once a Lombre/Poliwhirl finds a water stone.
