I've never written a complete story before. I have plenty of ideas for original works but I've never really put in the effort to actually make and finish one (these were mostly with gamedev in mind, mind you).
Would trying my hand at fanfiction be a good way to stretch the muscles of character writing and storytelling?
How should I even begin? The only thing with this series I could think to do is try and develop a character that never really got to be anything, like a gym leader or elite four member.
