You can repeat trainer battles for more xp AND money, and the game gives you Pokemon that you wouldn't normally have access to in the early levels. Pokespots were a weak bandaid for this complaint in Gale, but all the Pokemon you find in these locations are weaker than the ones you purify because they don't already know egg moves, TMs, or special moves like the ones you purify. Even then, your supposed to trade the Pokemon you catch here for ones that do have all those (except the special ones from purification).
This will never be a valid complaint, and if your only commitment to Pokemon is shitting on 15 year old games then
