Besides "muh walking bros" and "Pokemon Dash Simulator", those games were way slower than GSC. At least FRLG respect the original's speed and pacing for about 80% of the game (you can make the Sevii Islands story after the main story if you wish) and actually add postgame and tutorials as optionals without taking anything from the originals, and ORAS added actual content (over 20 megas, postgame, soaring, Dexnav) and did most characters better. HGSS's Battle Frontier and Walking Pokemon were a thing back in Platinum, and characters like Kimono Girls and Lyra/Ethan shit on you every two seconds just because "le forced friend" meme.
But hey! You still have that shitty level curve and other nice features! Enjoy waiting 100 days for a Gilbe!
