>>55578219that's a very weird stance to take when those "Dream World" changes are still in effect over 10 years later, plus a lot of those I listed weren't implemented until Gen 6 and later well after Gems and Dream World were nixed. Trying to call permanent adjustments to Pokemon's movesets, stat spreads, and abilities as "gimmicks" is really nonsensical, ignorant and incredibly bad faith in an argument like this. Also NONE of the Pokemon on the left have Gems listed as part of standardized movesets from Gen 5, with the only arguable one being Flying Gem Acrobatics Gliscor but that is nowhere near as standard as a Toxic Heal set and is a niche option at best. For the record I like Megas, but changes like those on the left are much better for Pokemon in the long term
