Think this covers the particular interview. It's worh nothing his view is they don't want to just sell pokémon (like shitheads sell injects on eBay), but is ok with the idea of including a pokémon alongside $x value of a tangible thing (buy a movie ticket, get a free pokémon; buy a pokéball plus, get a Mew).
Which is why I know he'd have no issue with DLC and 'mons included - they're offering a tangible thing so include new pokémon.

Without the context of the question asked in the interview (or the tweet posted alongside the image) this quote's worthless. They said they wouldn't do DLC, then did DLC anyway, but the full quote about it reveals more about their mentality at the time than just "we're never doing DLC".
But you knew that anyway and were well aware of your dis-ingenuity when you cropped out all context to cherry-pick an argument to the fact you grew up and the devs of the kiddy game don't care about you.

Sugimori mentioned they'd consider doing something similar to that years ago though anon. But only an absolute retard would infer people paid $50 for mew, when it was clear they were buying it for its other uses, with the mew being a bonus for doing so (like buying a movie ticket and getting a pokémon download, strangely).
