>>39383441It's basically exactly what you compared it to, anon. These people have an emotional attachment to both Nintendo and Game Freak. They remember all the joy the felt playing their games throughout their childhood. But, unlike us, these people feel as though admitting a product has severe flaws automatically equates to shitting on their nostalgic emotional attachment to the series as a whole. The way they react most of the time is as if you are insulting a member of their family; which should draw obvious parallels to the example you yourself provided.
I'm the type of person who is more insulted when a corporation I've been supporting for countless years continually stabs me in the back over and over as opposed to the frustrated fans in the same situation as me speaking up about how they don't wanna take the abuse anymore. Think about how much goddamn money GF has gotten from the hardcore Pokemon consumerbase over the past 20 years. You'd think they might possess a modicum of integrity and actually use some of their exorbitant profits to give us something worthwhile now that they've made it to a console capable of better-than-PS3-tier graphics. But no, instead what do we get? "Fisher Price Pokemon Ed. (LGPE)" and this half-assed Sun & Moon reskin with a shiny new lighting system plastered on and some marginally sharper textures. The only benefit to the game looking as bad as it does is that MAYBE this means it will run at 720p native on the handheld mode and 1080p in docked. If they manage this, at least the game will look nice and crisp. But to be honest, I am merely grasping at straws desperately seeking a single redeeming quality that could be brought about as a result of Game Freak's inexcusable laziness.
