Tera is ugly but mechanically interesting and makes some fucking wonders in competitive. Megas are simply cool super modes with neat lore and a cool "this is my ace, let's go all out" anime kino vibre.
Z-moves dances are ridiculous and made up 50% of the mechanic because it's just one nuke and then are gone, literally zero presence whatsoever, the most forgetable mechanic ever, and Dyna is cooler than Z and Tera but its presence is also limited by the three turns thing and it's so op it's genuinely not even funny, just press the button to win (precisely the problem Mega had incl gen 6 campaign but more and worse looking) so it ultimately becomes cancer to anyone who actually wants to get into battling.
I honestly wish they stopped with the new gimmick thing, just give me a key stone around the sixth gym and keep introducing a few megas every gen, then give me the tera orb when I beat the game so I can do some crazy type mixes shenanigans in post-game and online.
Maybe make a gem-like item that turns a move into a Giga move once so those designs aren't lost and let Necrozma's Z-crystal act as a mega stone so it can go Ultra, but that's all, we don't need full cancermax back and nobody cares or wants Z-moves back
