>>56084474I don't know where to start so forgive the thoughts being all over the place, but for me it's how sincere he is, with how obviously smitten he is with (You) and how obviously forced his edgy attitude in ID is. Him not wanting to let go of Ogerpon so easily and ultimately just wanting friends and freedom as he says in the Terapagos scene feels very human and real to me. He makes mistakes but he's ultimately just a sweet kid who wants to learn from them. I think a lot of things could've been done better and the reason for his obsession with strength could've had a bit more meat to it but characterisation-wise I think he's the best Pokémon character by a long mile.
