>>44678375It's not just Karate Chop, other physical Fighting type moves in the anime have the orange energy too. Like Revenge or Power-Up Punch. Basically the only Fighting-type attack that doesn't do this is Close Combat, which has always just been depicted as a non-magical flurry of punches and kicks. Which, going by anime logic, shouldn't count as a "move" and shouldn't take up one of a Pokemon's four moveslots, but it is what it is.
