I'll start- Recover. Though most Pokemon who learn it are psychic types, there doesn't really seem to be any actual theme especially in recent gens. Plus Venusaur looks like it could, assuming its based on an amphibian or reptile.

The way I see it is that the grass starters have advanced evolutionarily with time from
Amphibians(Venusaur)->Dinosaur(Meganium)->Early Modern Reptiles(Sceptile, Torterra, Serperior)->Primitive Mamals(Chesnaught)->Birds(Rowlett).
