Especially since he's been shown to openly like girls at least twice(Giselle in like, episode NINE and Melody in the SECOND movie) (Ash liking Latias is arguable so I'm not including that). Especially since we've already had asexual Ash for literally more than 1000 episodes, it's definitely time to spice things up a bit.
