>>29004976My city is a shitload of Voltorbs and Magnemites.
>>29005027It's good for specific reasons.
If you wanna keep playing but can't get your phone out like you're in a hurry, it's raining, streets are busy etc, it's good.
If you're walking an area you know is barren or only has shit catches but maybe lots of PokéStops, it's good.
It's actually very nice if your focus is item farming, with the caveat that you will only and catching weak trashmon, you'd better hope you didn't let something good escape.
It also has the benefit of reducing battery drain, heck if I have my powerbank plugged in my phone's charge actually goes up whilst playing this way.
The main problem I have though is that connectivity can be a bitch. It at random times can fail to connect if I've been playing the game for a short while, and connections can drop whilst the phone is locked without explanation.
The only time I can ensure a solid uninterrupted connection is if I load the game, connect the Pogo+, and then immediately lock my phone.
Although if I then decide to unlock my phone, play the game normally such as catch a Pokémon manually, reconnect my Pogo+ and lock my phone, within a minute the device will disconnect and unlocking my phone will force the app to restart.
I think this is more to do with how shockingly bad the game is programmed though. Pokémon catching and ball throwing bugs, camera bugs, gym errors, performance issues, Niantic have been awful in this regard.
