I stopped playing Pokémon as a teen, I had played every core games until HG/SS as well as all PMD games up to EoS.
I tried getting back into the franchise a few years later with B/W and B2/W2 but it never clicked with me and I always gave up halfway through.
Recently I tried playing Gates of Infinity on citras though, and it felt surprisingly good. The switch to 3D graphics didn't bother me as much as I thought it would, in fact I love the art direction. The OST sounds very nice and nostalgic. Gameplay and difficulty wise I can't say for sure since I'm only on the 4th dungeon so far. The storyline seems alright although I miss the guild and interacting with other rescue teams.
I feel like this game was given so much more love and care than it's core counterpart.
Why is the PMD line so good?
I was really looking forward to play more of it but my laptop died and now I have to wait a week before I can get back into it.
