I barely keep a collection of Pokemon despite having played since gen 2, my Pokemon are all scattered throughout the games and I never bothered to organize them, and I usually don't train too many Pokemon beyond my in-game team, I probably lost way too many Pokemon and abandoned others.
So any kind of "rare" Pokemon doesn't excite me, considering I never even bothered to complete a national dex or anything.
I think it'd be different if I had friends to play with, the games get boring after a while, I could never motivate myself to collect legendaries and finish the national dex and train competitive teams and any of that.
Maybe I should go through all the games again, this time with the goal of making a living dex, could be a fun way to rejuvenate my love for the series since I'm pretty down on it lately with how much SM disappointed me and how USUM is giving me absolutely nothing to get excited over.
I think I'll go Silver > Emerald > Platinum > BW2 > USUM.
