>>53873113Yes, banette ex turns off items. Its issues are that the damage output is low and banette is an evolved pokemon so it's a little slower than say seismitoad EX from back in the day. Experiments by top players so far have been mostly mid.
A lot of the top meta decks right now (arceus, lugia, garde, lost box) have on-board support that makes locking out items a little less impactful than previous formats. Lots of draw supporters in these decks also make it slightly harder to be locked out of the game. Path is annoying but these decks specifcally would hope to research/colress out of it.
It could be good one day while it's legal idk.
