room, really, they're saying "I'm deciding which personalities are permissible
in the room", so they're defining the character of the room, they're defining
the growth of the room - they have a lot of power and they don't take that
seriously at all. And if we want to see the room continue in the coming years,
and we want to see the character grow and change - and like I said, if
something isn't growing and changing, it's decaying - so if we want to see that
happen, we need some new moderators. So this rant would be an appeal to Zarel,
it would be an appeal to Scotteh, to just clean house. Get rid of these guys.
We've had enough. We've seen power abuse, again and again, we've seen them
botch their moderation of the influx of new users, and we've seen the showderp
users, the total number of users, just decay over time over their care. And if
we go back in time and we look at what the moderator list used to look like,
way back when the room was first created, Apt-get was very liberal in handing
out moderator. He would give it to pretty much anybody that had been around for
any amount of time. Which obviously wasn't the way to go. And I think we've
seen him swing all the way in the other direction, which is to say he's been
very specific and very stingy with the title of moderator, and I think it's
just a lot of nepotism and a lot of sycophants getting promoted, and it's kind
of this central problem with authority on the internet which is in reality, if
you show strength of character, you will get promoted to a leadership position.
