She has nothing much to gain from traveling with Ash, her tsundere shtick is grating. Why is she a tsundere when Ash isn't half as vicious as he was in OS? because misty was. What's her goal? Dragon Master? Well how does one achieve that? never explained. Well how is she with dragons? well she has axew a excadrill because it's name is a pun on dragon, and she caught a fully evolved dragonite. She didn't earn anything. It just felt like the writers went "oh, right Iris needs to do something with dragons". Iris has no arc, Iris has no depth, Iris has few redeemable qualities, Iris has wasted too much of our time.
