How is there no thread for the one good Pokemon MMO?
PokeMMO thread.
>What is it?https://pokemmo.eu/It's the one "complete" Pokemon MMO that lets you replay any of the first five regions (no Johto yet, but it's being built) on a harder difficulty, and then endgame lets you PvP with others, rematch trainers/gyms/league at harder difficulties, or you can PvE via Battle Tower et al.
It uses resources from the old ROMs to directly replicate the old school experience. You can basically play Red/Blue, Emerald, Platinum, Black/White in real time with any of your friends in its entirety. Soon SoulSilver/HeartGold as well (currently follower sprites use SS/HG).
>How's the combat/meta?It's BW1 with significant changes. It is its own separate meta. Baton Pass is useless (doesn't pass stats). Abilities from newer gens are selectively brought in. Sand, Rain, Trick Room are popular teams. You can play OU, UU, NU, Doubles, and "Random". A lot of changes that you'll just notice learning the game.
>What's the economy like?Breeding is adjusted to not exploit the economy (breeding removes both parents and leaves you with just the child). Charms and such are temporary items. Shiny hunting is just a flat 1/30k chance. Though you can buff this slightly, there is no chaining or special methods of obtaining shinies. They're mostly cosmetic. Dittos are MVPs and farmed/sold often to start a good breed. A perfect natured 6x 'mon is 800k - 1.6m on average.
>What else can I do?The game's been around since 2012. There's a gazillion cosmetics to collect if you want to do MMO things other than Pokemon battles. You can replay trainers and gyms for money daily, and they all get buffed during your rematches. The League has a level 100 variant in each region. Legendary mons cannot be caught permanently and there is only one per region. While you own them, you can't decline battles, and you need to keep winning battles to keep them.
