I love both but I think Toxtricity, while ambiguous, definitely leans more towards newt/salamander than it does reptile, what with those squishy chest lumps and those squashed sucker-like hands and toes and the lack of anything like scales and the way both stages' headpieces have those typical salamander protrusions to them (kinda like Wooper). Plus its colors and "ripped jeans" look a lot like pic related. The thing is that salamanders look a lot like geckos and people are more used to lizard monsters than amphibian monsters that that's just what they assume it is.
