Instead they started changing core features of the game, adding garbage story modes to a fucking sandbox game, wasting their dev time adding toddler tier shit like crayons and baloons instead of new weapons and enemies, reverting the planet level system to some shit system that depends on what biome planet it is.
Delaying the game was a death sentence.
Sword and Shield needs no delay, the only thing you can argue is bad about is is the culling of some Pokemon, those can be added 6 months down the line, like what happened in X&Y.
You literally don't have a single legitimate reason why the games should be delayed because that shit is reserved for actual unfinished games or fundamentally broken games that need to be restarted from the ground up.
