>>36439466>>36439658Kids who love Pokemon are going to go out of their way to play and watch Pokemon to the best of their abilities. Most kids from the late 90s to now growing up with any generation of Pokemon have had a relatively easy time getting the hang of it because it was made to be intuitive. Even if it's gotten quality of life changes since then to make things easier, it was always built in a way kids could understand.
What LGPE is made for isn't for kids. From the marketing to the gameplay to the forced tutorials you can tell it was made for ex Pokemon GO players. It was made for 20 year olds who don't want to have to learn all the mechanics of Pokemon to enjoy it. It was made for people who want to feel like they're a kid again or were a part of the fad which got them into it. If they haven't ever played a Pokemon game before, all the content and Pokemon could be overwhelming or downright considered bad. (There's still the Ice Cream/Trash meme).
People like Artsy Omni who say that this is a more welcoming experience aren't a tiny group. Anyone from the 12 year olds to the 30 year olds on every forum are saying these games are shit (they are), but it doesn't matter, because there's still tons of people who will see these games as a chance to play Pokemon without having to be a "nerd". The simplicity, GO transfer and co-op weren't made for hardcore fans, they were made for people who are here for nostalgia and that's it.
