>>35557589It even ties it into Charmeleon better. If you look at pictures of Charmeleon he's missing the back spike, but he has the one on his head (sprites and artwork). So Charmander has a spike on it's back that moves to it's head during evolution into Charmeleon, and then it splits into two horns on it's head when Charmeleon evolves into Charizard. The back spike actually did something for tying the evolutions together. And then BAM the anime dropped it.
