>>33934345So, some of you may recall from earlier journal entries the individual I am talking about, but if not, I will relay the story of how we met again. I was doing some research earlier in the year on Melemele Island on local Ultra Beast populations when I was ambushed by a wild Pheromosa from behind. Instead of attacking me or running away, however, when I turned around to find the creature standing right behind me…it gave me a hug. That was our awkward initial encounter, and it would set the stage for our future in many ways. I was scared stiff initially because of how powerful these creatures are and in turn how dangerous they can potentially be, so I didn’t know how to respond in that situation without potentially putting my life at risk. When she pulled away from me, though, she merely tilted her head briefly before simply smiling and running off. I thought that would be the last time I would see her, but three days later, she ambushed me again in the same fashion, and after that, she continued to follow me everywhere that I went. I thought that it was odd at first, but her persistence was admittedly quite cute, and I eventually took to sharing some of my food with her. I didn’t understand at the time why she was following me or being so benign towards my existence, but aside from being incredibly cautious towards her and potentially lethal actions on her part, I didn’t really think of it much at first.
